60th Annual Seminar

The Society for Educational Studies invites colleagues for the 60th Annual Seminar, taking place on Wednesday 16th November 2011. The day will explore the past, present and possible future development of the field of Educational Studies and consider notions of impact, theory and interdisciplinary in research on how people live and learn throughout their lives.

Seminar Series 2012

The Society for Educational Studies invites bids from colleagues based in UK HE institutions for its 2012 Seminar Series on Disciplinarity, interdisciplinarity and educational studies: past, present and future launched at the SES Annual Seminar on 16th November 2011. During 2012 the Society will fund one-day seminars that focus on the past, present and possible future development of the field of Educational Studies and that consider notions of impact, theory and interdisciplinarity in research on how people learn throughout their lives..

The funding available for each seminar is up to £3,000. Proposals to host a seminar (or a number of seminars across institutions) should cover:

  • Title/theme of day seminar;
  • Rationale for the day;
  • Identified speakers (and an indication if they have been approached and agreed to take part);
  • An indication of how the £3000 budget will be spent;
  • Venue(s);
  • Proposed marketing of seminar;
  • Dissemination of seminar proceedings.

The closing date is Friday 16th December 2011 and successful applicants will be notified as soon as possible after the closing date.
